Fun with film

It had been far too embarrassingly long since I’d shot a single frame of film, so I decided to take out my old medium format camera for a drive (a Mamiya 645 SUPER, for those who might be interested 😉  I bought this camera way back when I was in photo school, which at this point, was ten years ago!  Yikes.  I can count the number of times I’ve been out shooting with this camera on both hands–since immediately after I graduated photo school came the digital revolution.  It feels SO GOOD shooting with it again!  Really taking the time to compose your shot, thinking through what your camera needs to be set at for the proper exposure, dropping it off at the photo lab and having to wait that suspense-ridden day to get it back, then ripping open the envelope at the sales counter because you just can’t wait to get back to the car to see what it is you’ve got.

I think I’ll be doing a lot more film shooting from here on out.

This was a multiple-exposure taken from the balcony of my apartment in downtown.  I think I dig it.
