After their wedding, I had to thank Kira and Scott for having a day that was so much their very own. This is such a fun, quirky couple, and the whole wedding day was absolutely infused with their personalities. Kira and Scott booked me to shoot their wedding over the phone, without having met me in person first. That can be a nerve-wracking thing for a couple to do, but they told me they had to go with their gut and so with their gut they went. A few weeks after booking me, I finally met with them in person while on a trip to NY, and goodness gracious, Kira could not stop talking about manatees! Well, I was happy to see the subject of manatees also featured in their wedding ceremony–they did a water unity ceremony, and one of the symbols behind using water was that it supports manatees, and allows them to swim and play.
